Les Kiss names a 33-man Wallabies squad with two fresh faces and some returning reinforcements for a big Northern Hemisphere trip.
Australia coach Les Kiss has named his 33-man Wallabies squad for the spring tour of Europe, and there are new names in the mix. Teddy Wilson, the son of a Wallabies great, and prop Tom Lambert are the headline additions as Kiss freshens up his group.
The squad will face England, Scotland and Wales next month, with a fourth opponent still to be confirmed. All of it falls on the maiden Nations Championship finals weekend, which adds extra weight to a tour that was already demanding.
The selection also brings back some international reinforcements, strengthening the group for a run of Tests against established Northern Hemisphere opposition. Kiss has paired that experience with new faces, which shows he wants to build depth.
For Wilson, the call-up carries extra family significance, given his father's place in Wallabies history. Lambert, meanwhile, adds front-row competition as Australia prepares for the physical battles that European Tests tend to bring.
With the Nations Championship finals weekend set to be a first, the Wallabies will want to make a strong early statement on the tour.
