Warren Plots 2027 Heavyweight Unification Blitz, Eyes Usyk Return

Frank Warren wants 2027 to be the year the heavyweight division finally sorts out its champions, and he wants Oleksandr Usyk back in the mix.

Promoter Frank Warren is thinking big for 2027. He wants to stage heavyweight world-title unification fights, with the goal of bringing clarity to a division that has too often been split between rival belts and rival camps.

Central to the plan is Oleksandr Usyk. The former undisputed champion is the man Warren hopes to lure back into the title picture, and his presence would instantly raise the stakes for any unification bout. Usyk's skill, durability and big-fight record make him the kind of name that turns a title fight into a defining event.

Warren's pitch is simple: the best heavyweights should fight each other, and the belts should be settled in the ring rather than in sanctioning-body politics. Unification bouts have always been the cleanest way to crown a true number one, and the fans who keep the heavyweight division at the top of boxing's food chain have been asking for them for years.

Of course, talk is cheap in boxing, and 2027 is a long way off. Contracts, mandatory obligations, rival promoters and the usual network negotiations all have to line up before any of this becomes real. But if Warren can deliver even part of this vision, the heavyweight scene could be in for a huge year.
