Watch: Charles Barkley says Breonna Taylor's Death should not be lumped in with Black Lives Matters cases like George Floyd

Share
NBA Legend Charles Barkley is under a tremendous amount of scrutiny following his live comments about the Breonna Taylor case and how it was not similar to other killings like George Floyd. Barkley also seemed to take offense to the "Defund the Police" movement suggesting that Black people would have no one to call when crime is being committed in their neighborhoods. These comments were made during the NBA Playoffs being broadcasted on TNT. “I feel sad that this young lady lost her life. I think this one was — the no-knock warrant is something we need to get rid of … across the board. But I am worried to lump all these situations in together.”, Barkley Stated He went on to say “And I just feel bad that the young lady lost her life,” he added. “But we do have to take into account that her boyfriend shot at the cops and shot a cop. So like I say, even though I am really sorry she lost her life, I just don’t think we can put this in the same situation as George Floyd or Ahmaud Arbery.” “I hear these fools on TV talking about defund the police and things like that,” Barkley said. “I’m like, wait a minute, who are black people supposed to call? Ghostbusters? When we have crime in our neighborhoods?” Some were outraged by his remarks. Others like Candace Owens praised Barkley and Shaq (who agreed with some of Barkley's comments) See the Full video below.
