Hampshire have locked in batter Joe Weatherley on a new deal through the 2028 season, rewarding one of the Blast's most productive run-makers.
Hampshire have secured the long-term future of Joe Weatherley, with the batter putting pen to paper on a fresh contract that keeps him at the county until the end of the 2028 season.
The extension arrives on the back of a T20 Blast campaign in which Weatherley emerged as the leading run-scorer in the competition. That form has turned him into a central figure in Hampshire's white-ball plans, and the club have moved to tie him down well before there is any chance of rival counties circling.
For Hampshire, the deal is a statement of intent. Keeping a proven top-order performer for several more seasons gives the dressing room stability and a core to build around, in a domestic game where contract security can be hard to come by and talent is quickly poached.
For Weatherley, the new agreement offers a long runway to keep developing across formats while playing for the county that has backed him. With his deal now running through 2028, Hampshire supporters can look forward to plenty more of the stroke-making that has made him one of the Blast's standout names.
