Sarina Wiegman has committed her future to England until after Euro 2029, saying she can't think of a better job in football.
Sarina Wiegman isn't going anywhere. The Lionesses boss has signed a contract extension that keeps her in charge of England until after Euro 2029, a major boost for a team that has become a fixture at the business end of major tournaments.
The Dutch coach said she "cannot think of a better job in football", and her results back that up. Since taking over in 2021, she has led England to European glory in 2022, a World Cup final in 2023, and another continental title in 2025, when her side held its nerve to defend the crown.
The new deal stretches well beyond the 2027 World Cup in Brazil, giving the Football Association long-term stability on the touchline. It also gives Wiegman time to keep refreshing a squad that blends proven winners with a new generation pushing for places.
Wiegman's record speaks for itself. She won Euro 2017 with the Netherlands and took them to the 2019 World Cup final before moving to England. With her future now settled, the Lionesses can plan for the next cycle knowing the most decorated figure in their dugout is staying put.
