Wizards’ star John Wall apologises after flashing gang sign on video

Share

NBA star John Wall sparked controversy when he was captured on video throwing up a series of gang signs.

The Washington Wizards point guard made the hand gestures at what appeared to be a private party.

Footages showed a topless Wall surrounded by his friends, with all of them flashing the middle finger.

But in a statement, the 30-year-old has apologised for his actions, insisting that he made a “mistake”.

"First and foremost I want to apologize to my family, my teammates, and all of those that have always supported me," he posted on Twitter.

"I made a mistake, something I regret. I will continue to work hard to be better on the court and more importantly off the court."

Wall has previously been in the spotlight for a similar issue, after he famously made gang signs after an NBA game.

He has been in and out of action over the last three years, having battled an Achilles injury and other niggling injuries.
