Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is the new MORPHEUS

With the arrival of the first trailer for <em>The Matrix: Resurrections</em>, star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II made fans ecstatic.

Directed by Lana Wachowski, the trailer sees the return of Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss, but also the introduction of Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s character. Not much is known about the role he plays, but with the look of his character and the absence of original Morpheus actor Laurence Fishburne, some fans believe they have a good idea, which Abdul-Mateen II basically confirmed.

Alongside a screenshot of himself in the film shared on Instagram, Abdul-Mateen II has either confirmed the speculation, or added more fuel to the fire. “MORPHEUS,” he wrote alongside the image.
