The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced on Friday that Egypt will host the Total CAF Super Cup game between the Confederation Cup title winners: Morocco’s Renaissance Berkane and the winner of the CAF Champions League title.
The 2020 African Super Cup match is traditionally played between the winner of the Total CAF Champions League and the winner of the Total CAF Confederation Cup in a one-off clash.
The annual African Super Cup game was initially slotted to be held in Qatar between 14-16 August 2020. It was then however delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
CAF President Ahmad Ahmad and the head of the Qatari Football Association (QFA), SHK Hamad Bin Khalifa Bin Ahmad Al-Thani reached an agreement on Friday not to organize the game in the Asian country based on the African and Qatari sports calendars.

Hereby, CAF decided to organize the continental one-off game in Egypt without declaring the date of the game.
“This year’s edition will be held in Cairo, Egypt,” read a statement published on the CAF official website on Friday.
“CAF will work closely with the Host Association to make the 2020 Total CAF Super Cup a success,” the African football governing body added in their statement.
Morocco’s Renaissance Berkane, who won the African Confederation Cup after beating Egyptian side Pyramids FC in the final, will meet with the winner of the Cairo derby game between Ahly and Zamalek in the CAF Champions League final that will be played on 27 November.
Ahly hold the record for the most African Super Cup wins with six titles, followed by fellow Cairo-side Zamalek with four titles.
