The Walia Ibex placed second on group K with nine points after Madagascar and Niger played a goalless game in their last round of qualifiers on Tuesday.
Ethiopia after an impressive performance in the campaign will return to the competition in Cameroon in 2022 after 8 years absence, they defeated Giants Ivory Coast by 2-1 and went ahead to trash both Madagascar and Malawi on 4 goals each.

Madagascar who were one of the revelations at the last Cup of Nations in Egypt dropped down to third, with seven points and failed to win their final match of the group against Niger.
Ethiopia will play Ivory coast at the Stade Olympique Alassane Ouattara, Abidjan on Tuesday. The Elephants moved a step closer to booking their spot at the Africa Cup of Nations with a win against Niger last week.
A point will be enough for them to advance but Ethiopia will arrive for this clash with plenty of confidence having seen off Madagascar by four goals to nil in their pivotal clash with that success putting them in second spot ahead of these final games.
Ethiopia have been impressive in their last two games having scored seven goals without reply and while they will feel confidence of a win again here.
