Ghanaian born German star Gerald Asamoah has called for a more committed approach to tackle racism in football after Jordan Torurarigha was racially abused.
German of Nigerian descent, Jordan Torurarigha was racially abused in the second half of Hertha Berlin’s 3-2 defeat to Schalk FC in their German Cup match on Tuesday.
The Hertha Berlin defender picked up a case of a drink and slammed it down, leading to his sending off for a second bookable offense after he was abused by the fans.
Schalke O4 FC under 23 coach, Gerald Asamoah took to twitter to show his disgust for the incident. The 41-year old on twitter ” What can I say, it just disgusts me”. The ex-footballer has called for vehement action against racism after the incident.
