The Charlotte Hornets have really been ballin ‘out this season, no pun intended. But Lavar Ball, father of current Hornets player Lamelo Ball, thinks otherwise.
LaVar feels that the organization is passing on the pairing of LaMelo and his brother LiAngelo — who currently plays for the G League counterpart.
The Hornets have decided to keep LiAngelo in the G League and don’t offer him a contract. LaVar Ball can’t contain how he feels about that. In an interview with TMZ, he was asked about the team’s decision, and he seems unimpressed with it.
LaVar went on to say, “They need to let my boy go ahead and play,” as he added. “I dropped them a superstar in the G League and they don’t know what to do with him.”
Additionally, when asked where he plans to go on next for LiAngelo if the Hornets passes
“I already said the Lakers, but then they got rid of Zo,” LaVar told.“Then I said Charlotte, you got him in your backyard. Bring him in, let him play with Melo. Now, I got a new destination: LA Clippers, here we go!”
Will LiAngelo make a roster spot for the Hornets and finally pair the two Ball Brothers? Or will LaVar persuasively convince the Clippers to sign him up?
Only time will tell, but as of date, LiAngelo has averaged 9.3 ppg for the G League affiliate of the Hornets. He also had a game-high 22 points against the Birmingham Squadron.
