Former Manchester United defender Patrice Evra has warned Arsenal about their title chances, highlighting the failure to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as a critical mistake.
Patrice Evra believes Arsenal’s failure to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen could hurt their chances of winning the Premier League.
In a recent TikTok video, Evra questioned the Gunners’ transfer decision-making, expressing frustration and disappointment.
“Tell me how Galatasaray could buy Victor Osimhen, but Arsenal didn’t,” Evra said, criticising the club for not securing a top-class striker.
Evra argued that Arsenal’s current squad lacks the firepower needed to win the title. “They don’t have a killer. They don’t have a striker,” he said, suggesting the Gunners are missing a key piece in their attack.
Osimhen, on loan from Napoli, has made an instant impact at Galatasaray, scoring four goals and providing three assists in just seven matches. His impressive form comes after a difficult summer where the striker couldn’t secure a permanent move away from Napoli.
Arsenal had shown interest in Osimhen during the transfer window, but the deal didn’t materialise. To make matters worse, another potential target, Ivan Toney, recently moved to Saudi Arabia, leaving the Gunners with limited striker options.
Evra’s comments come at a crucial time for Arsenal, hoping to end their long wait for a Premier League title. However, without a proven goal-scorer like Osimhen, Evra believes they will struggle to compete with top rivals.
With the Nigerian forward already shining in Turkey, Arsenal’s transfer decisions may come under further scrutiny as the season progresses.
