James Harden and the Brooklyn Nets cruised past the LA Clippers on Monday night in the NBA. He dropped 39 points for the victory of his team, combined with 15 assists and 8 rebounds. The Nets secured a convincing 124-108 win on the road at Crypto.com Arena.
Apart from James Harden, Patty Mills and Nic Claxton came up big for the Nets, both scoring 18 points. Claxton also finished the night on an 8-9 shooting from the field. Blake Griffin was also valuable for the Nets, adding 9 rebounds for just 16 minutes of play.
The LA Clippers missed a couple of their top players including Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Reggie Jackson, and Nicolas Batum. Marcus Morris Sr. was the most clinical player on his team, scoring 24 points on 4-7 from the 3-point line. Keon Johnson and Eric Bledsoe tallied with 15 points, but both of them shot 42% from the field. Nobody from the team recorded a double-double which further contributed for their loss. For instance, Luke Kennard scored just 10 points in 24 minutes, while Ivica Zubac added just 9 points.
The Brooklyn Nets continue marching on in the East with 23 wins and 9 losses. So far, they find themselves securely on top of the Conference, as the closest team to them is the Chicago Bulls who have a 21-10 record. The Brooklyn Nets will wrap up 2021 with a home game against Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers.
The situation within the Los Angeles Clippers worsens as they are unable to escape from the mix around the fifth place. The most concerning thing for them is the fact that even a single loss might send them to the ninth place at the moment. However, they will try to finish the year on a positive note as they travel to the East to face off the Boston Celtics and the Toronto Raptors. As a whole, their 17-17 record is simply not enough for a team of their caliber.
