Liverpool manager, Jürgen Klopp couldn’t hide his joy with the performance of Mohamed Salah in Liverpool’s 2-1 Premier League win over Bournemouth on Saturday.
Salah equalized for Liverpool after they had gone behind to an early Callum Wilson strike. Sadio Mané assist Salah to finished low at the near post, past Aaron Ramsdale. Mané himself scored before half time to give the Reds all the 3 points at Anfiled .
Liverpool losing to Watford 3-goals to nil for the first time in the English Primer League this season and Chelsea also beaten them in the FA cup by 2 goals to nil, many people believed Bournemouth also going to beat them. But goals from Egyptian Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane , they get back to their wining way.
Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com after the game, Klopp insisted Salah offered far more than just the equalizing goal on the day.
Klopp was asked if Salah’s goal ensured his place among the top forwards to play for Liverpool down through the years.
“I don’t think he needed that goal to do that, but it helps obviously that people [will] remember you.
“Incredibly important goal, a super performance – a really, really good game of Mo.
“He is an outstanding striker, a world-class striker. It’s really nice, I’m really happy for him that he reached that mark and I think Sadio has the chance to do similar stuff. That would be really cool.
“We need the boys because, with all the good stuff you can do on the pitch, in the end, you need somebody to finish it off and very often, thank God, it was Mo.”
Salah’s goal against Bournemouth took his tally to 20 for the season, meaning Liverpool’s number 11 has now scored at least 20 goals in each of his three seasons at the club.
