Former NBA player, Pops Mensah-Bonsu

The Knicks are planning to hire Pops Mensah-Bonsu as president and director of their G League operations, The Athletic’s Mike Vorkunov and Shams Charania tweet.

Mensah-Bonsu was the GM of the Wizards’ Capital City Go-Go G League team last season after a stint as a Spurs scout.

Mensah-Bonsu has a 10-year playing career, including four in the NBA in stints with the Dallas Mavericks, San Antonio Spurs, Toronto Raptors (twice), Houston Rockets and New Orleans Pelicans (then the Hornets).

Since then, Mensah-Bonsu has served as a scout for the Spurs before becoming the GM of the Washington Wizards G League team in 2018.

He will now oversee the Westchester Knicks as they look to continue to develop talent for New York.
