Benjamin Mendy is due to appear in court on Friday charged with four counts of rape and one count of sexual assault. Manchester City has suspended the player during the ongoing investigation.
The charges are related to three complainants, all above the age of 16. The complaints are from October 2020 up until this month.
The Manchester City defender is currently under custody ahead of his appearance in front of the Magistrates’ court on Friday.

Benjamin Mendy has won the World Cup with France in 2018. He played against Tottenham on the opening weekend of the Premier League, but didn’t play against Norwich last weekend.
