Rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will take over as the Miami Dolphins’ starter beginning Week 8 against the Los Angeles Rams.
Ryan Fitzpatrick, who has led the Dolphins to back-to-back wins in the last two weeks and a 3-3 record on the season, will now be the backup QB.

Tua, the No 5 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, relieved Fitzpatrick late on in Miami’s 24-0 win over the New York Jets on Sunday, completing his first NFL pass.
He served as backup to starting quarterback Jalen Hurts until he broke out during the 2018 national championship game, leading the team to a win after replacing Hurts at halftime.
He was named the starter for the 2018 season and in 2019, but that season was cut short by a hip injury that required surgery and injected some doubt into his NFL future.
