Former Black Stars midfielder, Michael Essien has completed his UEFA certificate in football management, marking another step in his career off the pitch.
The ex-Chelsea and Real Madrid midfielder shared his excitement on social media, saying, “Finally done with my UEFA certificate in football management journey. Thanks all for the help. I keep learning about the beautiful game.”
Essien, 41, currently serves as a talent coach at FC Nordsjaelland in Denmark, where he uses his experience to mentor young players. His successful playing career included stints at Chelsea, Real Madrid, and AC Milan, earning him respect as one of Ghana’s finest players.
Essien’s achievement comes as Ghana’s national team, the Black Stars, struggles in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers. With only two points from their last four matches, the team sits third in Group F and has yet to secure a win, adding to the hope that Essien’s experience could help bring back Ghana’s football glory.
