Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson has disclosed that his roots can be traced back to Congo.
Iron Mike made the revelation which speaking on his podcast, Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson.
The 54-year-old said the result from his genealogical DNA test showed that he is of Congolese ancestry.
“I did my ancestry. I’m a n**** from Congo…Ain’t that some bullshit,” the former WBA title holder said.
Meanwhile, award-winning singer Akon who was also on the podcast said Tyson has a character similar to every Congolese.
He said the retired boxer must have got his fierce boxing skills from his ancestry, adding that the people of Congo can kill a lion with their bare hands.
“I was just about saying you look Congolese. He got the heart of a Congolese,” Akon noted.
“Can I tell you something about Congolese? This is why they are at war to today. These dudes kill gorillas with their bare hands.”
Tyson has not entered the ring since retiring over a decade and half ago, however, he has been talking about a comeback fight with a yet-to-be-named opponent.
