Barcelona’s latest signing Miralem Pjanic has tested positive for the novel coronavirus, the Catalan club said on Sunday.
The Bosnian recently officially joined Barcelona, with the club announcing in June that Pjanic would be coming to Spain from Juventus on a deal that could rise to be worth €65 million (£59m/$73m).
The 30-year-old joined the Catalan gaints from Juventus in June in a move which saw Arthur Melo going the other way for €72m.

Barcelona have now revealed via a statement that he will not travel to the city for another 14 days whilst he is self-isolating.
Barca’s first team players have been on holiday since losing 8-2 to Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarterfinals nine days ago but resume training on Aug. 31.

Pjanic won’t be able to begin training until Sept. 7, less than a week before the new season starts.
Barca, however, will not start their Liga campaign until the third week of the season due to their participation in the final phase of the Champions League.
