Mohamed Salah equals Jamie Vardy’s Premier League record

Mo Salah scored his 100th goal for Liverpool in all competitions, the third fastest in the club's history to reach that milestone.

Mohamed Salah equaled Jamie Vardy’s record of scoring or assisting in 15 consecutive Premier League games after finding the net in Thursday night’s meetign with Newcastle United on Thursday.

Liverpool found themselves behind to a Jonjo Shelvey curler, but soon restored parity as Diogo Jota rifled in an equaliser before Salah slotted from close range to record a goal involvement in his 15th straight league game.

The Egyptian has now scored in five consecutive top-flight home games against Newcastle as well, his best 100% scoring run against one side at Anfield in the competition.

He also has 24 Premier League goal involvements this season (15 goals, nine assists), in the competition’s history only ex-Newcastle centre-forward Alan Shearer in 1994-95 has registered more before Christmas (25 – 16 goals, nine assists).
