Chelsea will be without Hakim Ziyech for the Boxing Day clash against Arsenal.
The Morocco international has been a key player for Chelsea since arriving from Ajax in the summer, but he will miss the game against Arsenal on Boxing Day.
The Morocco international has not played since Chelsea’s 3-1 win over promoted Leeds United on Dec. 5.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard had hoped Ziyech would be fit for the clash against Arsenal on Boxing Day after he returned to training, however the derby has come too soon for him.
“Ziyech won’t be fit for Arsenal… he’s got another muscle injury. You have to wait for it to recover,” Lampard told a news conference on Wednesday.
“It’s not a long-term concern, we hope to have him back within the next week or so, and hopefully offering what he was before.”
Meanwhile, Ben Chilwell and Reece James remain doubtful for the game against the Gunners.
