Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Nelson Agholor apparently didn’t hold anything back after a meltdown loss against the Miami Dolphins in Week 16.
The Raiders blew a three-point lead with 19 seconds left on a day in which Agholor had five catches for 155 receiving yards. The result put the Dolphins a step closer to the playoffs (though they ultimately didn’t make it) and put the Raiders another loss closer to a .500 season despite starting 6-3.
It didn’t sit well with Agholor, the former Philadelphia Eagles star and Super Bowl winner who signed a one-year deal with Las Vegas. The wide receiver reportedly stormed into the locker room after the loss and lit into his teammates, per Vic Tafur of The Athletic.
According to the Athletic, Raiders receiver Nelson Agholor – who had gone for 155 yards and a TD in that game – began screaming at his teammates afterward, ripping them for a lack of accountability and “flat-out accepting” their late-season slide.
“Agholor told his teammates that they sucked,” according to the article.
Gruden, GM Mike Mayock and several players, including linebacker Nicholas Morrow, preached accountability in the media, but Mayock also turned heads when he criticized his own draft picks on the Raiders’ team website. In a Q&A, Mayock criticized wide receiver Henry Ruggs III, the Raiders’ 11th-overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, as well as fellow rookie, cornerback Damon Arnette.
