The NFL’s Ezekiel Nana Ansah has been enstooled as a sports development chief in his native Ghana.
He was enstooled by the Akuapem Traditional Council, with his stool name known as Abrahene Nana Ansah, which translates as Chief Sports Advisor.
Ansah frequently visits Ghana and is the founder of the Ezekiel Ansah Foundation, which seeks to create opportunities for the youth through sports and education.
The 31-year-old is currently a free agent, but previously lined up for the Detroit Lions and Seattle Seahawks.
Following his enstoolment, Ansah promised to help bring investment from the diaspora to the Akuapem area.
Last year, he organised a Football camp in Accra to teach young ones about the techniques and skills in playing American football.
“This is one thing that I have really been passionate about. Growing up I never had anybody coming down [to Ghana] to do a football camp for me,” he said back then.
“But it’s something I learnt in the states, it has been great so far. I am looking forward to making it even bigger and better than previous years.”
