Manchester United has signed a deal with Nigeria teenager, Shola Shoretire, committing his future to Old Trafford after many European clubs wanted his signature.
Because Shola was not 18 years, he has signed scholarship forms with Manchester United until next year when he turns to a professional. The teenager promoted to Manchester United U18 team before the beginning of the season and has played 12 matches.
The 16-year old-who is eligible to play for Nigeria or England has made history by becoming the club’s youngest ever to play in an official youth Cup match, when he was 14 years old after feature in the UEFA Youth League and Cup game. Coming on as a substitute against the Valencia U19 team.
The winger has already been called to U 23 training camp in Austria over the summer, with Man united coaches describing Shola as an “exceptional talent ” and has now taken the next step on what looks to be a promising career.
Shola has trained with England youth sides in recent years but is also eligible to play international football for Nigeria.
