Despite being underdogs, the team delivered a stunning performance, led by Ezzine Kalu’s impressive 19-point display.
Kalu, who plays in France, showcased her skills on the court, helping Nigeria overcome a slow start to win the first quarter 18-17.
The team’s momentum continued in the second quarter, with a convincing 23-11 win. This set the tone for the rest of the game, ultimately leading to a historic triumph.
D’Tigress will look to build on this success as they face hosts France in their next match, followed by a final group-stage encounter against Canada on August 4.
