The Rockets have been struggling this season in the NBA as they were off to one of their worst starts in the League. After James Harden and Chris Paul’s era, the team is now in a new rebuilding stage. They suffered 15 straight losses and there seemed to be no hope for them. However, after a narrow 118:113 win over the Chicago Bulls, things took a sharp turn in their favour.
They went on to win the next five games. Although the teams they have defeated include some of the weakest ones in the League, their achievement shouldn’t be disregarded. The proved to be clinical against the OKC Thunder, the Orlando Magic, the Charlotte Hornets, and lastly against the New Orleans Pelicans. With the victory over the Pelicans, they achieved something that no other team has ever done in the major sports history in the United States including NBA, NHL, MLB, and NFL.
Led by Eric Gordon and Christian Wood, the Rockets stand in 13th place in the West with 7 wins and 16 losses. They are a couple of wins away from the top 10 which will be their goal for the season. Houston can also use their #2 Draft Pick, Jalen Green, and the third-year guard, Kevin Porter Jr. Moreover, John Wall will bring even more quality when he returns to the roster. The team is young and have lots of potential and ambition, but in my opinion, it’s a bit early for them to fight alongside the best in the NBA.
