Zlatan Ibrahimovic has signed a new one-year contract worth £6.2m with AC Milan.
The 38-year-old Swedish forward scored 11 goals in all competitions after returning to Milan in January.
Ibrahimovic, who first signed for the club in 2010 and won a Serie A title that season, resumed pre-season training with his team-mates on Monday.
Ibrahimovic told Milan’s website: “As I’ve always said, I’m not here to be a mascot. I’m here to bring results and to help the team, the coach and the squad return to where Milan should be.
“We had a great last six months but we haven’t won anything. This year I’ve got the chance to be here from the start so we’ve got to continue like we were, working hard and sacrificing ourselves to reach our goals.”
He previously featured for Serie A rivals Juventus and Inter and played for Paris St-Germain, Manchester United and LA Galaxy between his Milan spells.
