Black Starlets winger Abdul Latif Wunzalgu promises his finest display yet as Ghana meet Ivory Coast with a 2027 U17 AFCON spot on the line.
West African youth football gets a heavyweight clash on Tuesday as Ghana's Black Starlets take on Ivory Coast in the WAFU Zone B U17 Championship semi-final, with a place at the 2027 U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco at stake.
Leading the confidence in the Ghana camp is winger Abdul Latif Wunzalgu, who told the pre-match press conference that the best is yet to come. "Tomorrow's game will be my finest," the playmaker declared, setting the tone for a high-stakes night in Ouagadougou.
He has already shown what he can do in this tournament. Abdul Latif earned Player of the Match honours in Ghana's opening Group A game, a 1-0 win over Togo, and has remained an important figure in the side's progress since then. Now he wants to carry that form into the knockout stage.
Ghana arrive unbeaten after topping Group A with seven points from three matches. The semi-final will be played at the 4th August Stadium, with kick-off at 16:00 GMT. Win, and the Black Starlets reach the final and book their ticket to Morocco. Lose, and the dream gets a lot harder.
