Ghana's champions turned an early deficit into a five-goal rout to open their CAF Women's Champions League Group B campaign in style.
Ghana's Ampem Darkoa Ladies have announced themselves in the CAF Women's Champions League with a statement 5-1 demolition of Mali's USFAS Bamako in their Group B opener. The WAFU-B champions were rattled early but roared back at the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismailia, Egypt, on Monday, November 2, 2026.
USFAS struck first in the 11th minute through Oumou Kone, and for a spell the Ghanaians looked uneasy. But Ampem Darkoa did not stay down for long. Angelina Yeboah levelled in the 28th minute, and just three minutes later Patricia Agyei completed the turnaround to send her side into the break 2-1 up.
The second half belonged entirely to the Ghanaian champions, who kept pressing and kept asking questions of a stretched Malian back line. Yeboah bagged her second of the afternoon in the 79th minute, and Beline Nyarkoh made it four just four minutes later to put the contest beyond doubt.
Nancy Amoh then put the finishing touch on the rout in stoppage time, capping a ruthless and clinical display. Three points in the bag and a big goal difference to boot, Ampem Darkoa now have early momentum in Group B and a clear message for the rest of the field: Ghana's champions have come to compete.
