Ghana's Ampem Darkoa Ladies are in Egypt to finish the unfinished business against Nigeria's Edo Queens, with a CAF Women's Champions League spot at stake.
Ghana versus Nigeria, with a continental ticket on the line. Ampem Darkoa Ladies have touched down in Egypt to settle their WAFU B qualifying final against Edo Queens, and this time there is no shootout hangover, only extra time.
The Ghana Women's Premier League champions will pick up the final from the start of extra time after the original penalty shootout result was nullified following decisions by the Confederation of African Football. The rescheduled clash is set for Thursday, October 29, in Cairo.
How did we get here? The sides met in the final on September 5, 2026. CAF's Organising Committee for Women's Football then issued its decision on September 26, and the CAF Appeal Board followed with a ruling on October 16. In a letter to both clubs, CAF ordered play to resume with the score locked at 2-2.
The format is simple and brutal: two 15-minute periods of extra time. If the teams are still level after those 30 minutes, a penalty shootout will decide who goes through.
The prize is big for West African women's football. The winner stays in Egypt to compete in the main CAF Women's Champions League tournament, while the loser heads home. For Ampem Darkoa and Edo Queens, everything comes down to 30 minutes in Cairo.
