Ghana's young stars hit the recovery pitch in Burkina Faso after a 3-1 win over Benin, with one eye on Friday's group finale against the hosts.
Ghana's youth momentum keeps rolling at the WAFU B U17 Championship. The Black Starlets wasted no time after their 3-1 win over Benin, heading to the Salitas Academy Complex in Burkina Faso on Wednesday morning for a one-hour recovery session.
Head coach Kassim Ocansey and his technical team oversaw the workout, and the whole squad took part except Osman Saidu. The player picked up a groin injury against Benin and sat out as a precaution, leaving his availability for the next game a question to watch.
The menu was light but purposeful: easy aerobic work, gentle jogging, mobility drills, stretching and controlled movements. In a tournament where matches come thick and fast, sessions like this help boost blood flow, ease muscle soreness, shake off fatigue and lower the injury risk that comes with a heavy workload.
The focus now shifts to Friday, when Ghana face hosts Burkina Faso in their final group-stage match. With a home crowd expected to back the opposition, the Starlets will need fresh legs and sharp minds to keep their campaign on course.
