Ivorian winger Yan Diomande and Kylian Mbappé star as Real Madrid beat Racing Santander 3-0 to close the gap on La Liga leaders Barcelona.
African talent is shaping the La Liga title race. Ivorian winger Yan Diomande got on the scoresheet and Kylian Mbappé, of Cameroonian and Algerian heritage, also found the net as Real Madrid beat Racing Santander 3-0.
Jude Bellingham scored the third goal in the win. Madrid never looked troubled and managed the game with the calm of a side that knows what is at stake.
The result moves Los Blancos to within three points of leaders Barcelona. Madrid are not top yet, but the pressure on the Catalans is growing.
For Diomande, the goal is a big moment on one of football's biggest stages, and a reminder of the depth of talent coming out of Côte d'Ivoire. Alongside Mbappé and Bellingham, he showed he can contribute when Madrid need it most.
With the gap down to a single win, every remaining fixture matters. Madrid have made their statement, and now Barcelona have to answer it.
