PSG interest is reportedly swirling around Ghana-eligible winger Nico Williams, but his Athletic Club deal runs all the way to 2035.
Ghana-eligible star Nico Williams is back in the transfer spotlight, with reports linking the 24-year-old winger to Paris St-Germain. The Spain international, whose roots connect him to Ghana, would be swapping LaLiga for Ligue 1 if a deal ever came together. For now, it is only talk: nothing suggests terms have been agreed.
The obstacle is a big one. Williams is tied to Athletic Club until 30 June 2035, so PSG could not simply wait and sign him on a free. Any move would need a deal with the Basque side, and the winger is reportedly valued at around €40m.
On the pitch, Williams has made eight LaLiga appearances this season and scored once. He was also in Spain's 2026 World Cup-winning squad, where he registered one assist in six appearances. That adds to a CV that already includes Euro 2024 glory with La Roja and the Copa del Rey with Athletic in 2023-24.
Williams came through the Athletic pathway after starting out in Osasuna's academy. He stepped up from the club's reserve side in July 2021 and has stayed in Bilbao since. With his long-term deal in place, he is still very much an Athletic man, but a name like his will keep attracting rumours, and African football fans will be watching closely.
