Ghana's Kelvin Ofori bagged a quickfire equaliser as Atromitos stormed back to beat Volos 3-1 and move on in the Greek Cup.
Ghanaian midfielder Kelvin Ofori made his mark in Greece on Thursday, scoring in the 11th minute to spark Atromitos Athinon's 3-1 comeback win over NPS Volos in the Greek Cup fourth round.
The hosts struck first. Georgios Charalampoglou put Volos ahead in the eighth minute, finishing off a assist from Hamza Mendyl. The lead lasted barely three minutes. Stavros Pnevmonidis picked out Ofori, who found the net to bring Atromitos level.
The visitors kept the momentum. In the 13th minute, Samuel Moutoussamy rose to head in a Kyriakos Papadopoulos delivery and complete the turnaround. Ten minutes later, Atromitos got another break when Volos defender Derek Agyakwa turned the ball into his own net, leaving the hosts chasing a two-goal deficit.
Volos pushed for a way back after the interval, but Atromitos held firm and protected their cushion. Ofori was substituted in the 70th minute, his job done after a decisive contribution.
The win keeps Atromitos alive in the competition as they continue their push for the Greek Cup title, with Ofori's early strike proving the spark for the comeback.
