Atlanta's franchise-tagged tight end ends his holdout and rejoins teammates for offseason workouts.

Kyle Pitts Jr. has officially ended his franchise tag standoff with the Atlanta Falcons, signing his tender and reporting to the team's offseason workout program. The dynamic tight end's return provides a massive boost to Atlanta's offensive preparations as they gear up for the upcoming NFL season.

The 24-year-old playmaker had been absent from team activities while his representatives worked through the franchise tag situation. Pitts' decision to sign the tender, worth approximately $12.3 million for the 2024 season, clears the air and allows him to focus entirely on football alongside his teammates.

Since being drafted fourth overall in 2021, Pitts has established himself as one of the league's most versatile offensive weapons. His combination of size, speed, and route-running ability makes him a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses. The former Florida Gator hauled in 53 catches for 667 yards in 2023 despite dealing with injuries.

With contract negotiations now behind him, Pitts can channel his energy into building chemistry with quarterback Kirk Cousins and helping the Falcons chase their first playoff appearance since 2017. His presence in the lineup gives Atlanta one of the NFL's most dangerous receiving threats at the tight end position, setting the stage for what could be a breakout campaign in the NFC South.
