Kyrie Irving slapped with $25,000 fine for inappropriate language directed at heckler

Share
Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving has been fined $25,000 by the NBA for obscene language directed at a fan on Monday night's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.  https://twitter.com/Travonne/status/1483582433362595849?s=20 Irving, a former Cavalier himself, was seen and caught on video exchanging words directed at a courtside heckler. The seven-time All-Star wasn't having any of it as he shot back some words along with dropping the f-bomb.

"Got y'all a championship and motherf**kers still ungrateful," said Irving.

A response from the fan then followed the verbal altercation. Saying that Irving only managed to win the money championship, which wasn't enough.

"And it was just one," the person replied.

The fine may be a speck of dust as Irving is on his way to make $35 million this season but has been faced with a pay cut amounting to $380K+ due to a local vaccine mandate and for a couple of games that he missed.  The Brooklyn Nets now have two players in Irving and Kevin Durant for being fined by the league in just one week. Durant, who is currently not playing due to injury, had a $15K fine last Friday for using profane language during a post-game interview.
