Ghana's Lawrence Ofori struck in the 92nd minute to seal a vital away win and lift Casa Pia's push away from the Primeira Liga drop zone.
Ghanaian midfielder Lawrence Ofori delivered a moment of late drama on Saturday, scoring in stoppage time to seal a 2-0 win for Casa Pia away at Estrela Amadora in the Portuguese Primeira Liga.
The 92nd-minute strike at the Estádio José Gomes came after Ofori pounced on a loose ball in midfield and slotted home with goalkeeper Leo Linck stranded. It was a sharp, opportunistic finish that put the result beyond doubt and underlined the growing influence of African talent in Portugal's top flight.
Casa Pia had already taken control through João Rego in the 31st minute. The midfielder carried the ball forward from deep and finished coolly past Linck, handing the visitors a lead they carried into the break.
Estrela Amadora threw numbers forward after the interval in search of an equaliser, but Casa Pia stayed disciplined at the back. Goalkeeper Patrick Sequeira came up with key saves to protect the advantage until Ofori finally ended the contest.
The three points, earned in the ninth round of the season, strengthen Casa Pia's bid to pull clear of the relegation zone. For Ofori, the goal takes his tally to one goal and one assist in nine league appearances, a timely contribution in a campaign where every point matters.
