Ernest Poku's assist dragged Besiktas level at Celtic Park, but Camilo Duran's late second goal sank the Turkish giants in a Europa League thriller.
Dutch-Ghanaian forward Ernest Poku played his part in a wild Europa League night in Glasgow, creating Besiktas' equaliser before the Turkish side were beaten 3-2 by Celtic at Celtic Park.
The first half passed without a goal, but the second was a different story. Besiktas struck first in the 54th minute when Junior Olaitan smashed home the rebound after Sam Johnstone had kept out his initial penalty. Celtic hit back through their bench, with Callum Osmand levelling in the 62nd minute and Camilo Duran putting the hosts in front in the 78th.
Besiktas refused to fold. With five minutes left, Poku picked out Orkun Kokcu, who hammered a powerful finish into the bottom corner to make it 2-2 and set up a frantic finish.
Celtic had the last word, though. Duran grabbed his second of the night in the 87th minute to win it for the hosts and hand Besiktas their first defeat of the Europa League league phase this season.
Despite the loss, Poku continues to make his mark in the competition. He now has one goal and one assist in two appearances.
