Kiah Stokes' double-double and three blocks push Golden State to a 3-2 Finals lead, one win from a championship in just their second season.
The Golden State Valkyries are one win away from a WNBA championship. They ground out a 64-55 victory over the Atlanta Dream on Monday night in Game 5 of the Finals, and now lead the best-of-seven series 3-2.
Kiah Stokes set the tone at both ends, finishing with 13 points, eight rebounds and three blocked shots. Her rim protection and steady presence helped hold Atlanta to 55 points in a low-scoring, physical contest where every possession mattered.
Angel Reese had a much quieter night than her big showings in the first two games of the series at Chase Center. She finished with seven points, 15 rebounds and five assists, and foul trouble added to the frustration. She shook her head in disbelief when she was whistled for the second of her three offensive fouls with 7:43 left to play.
Golden State now has a chance to finish the job in only their second season in the league. For Atlanta, the equation is simple: win or the season is over.
