Italian-Ghanaian forward Kelvin Yeboah set up a first-half goal as Minnesota United beat LAFC 3-1 away at BMO Stadium.
Italian-Ghanaian forward Kelvin Yeboah added to his growing MLS output on Sunday, providing an assist as Minnesota United beat Los Angeles FC 3-1 at BMO Stadium. It was his fifth assist of the season.
Yeboah's contribution came in the 34th minute. Playing alongside Joaquin Pereyra up front, he nodded a header into the path of Cherrion Valerius, who beat Hugo Lloris with a fine finish to make it 2-0. The goal gave the visitors control of the match.
Pereyra had opened the scoring in the 29th minute, converting after a long throw from Valerius caused chaos in the LAFC box. He completed his brace in the 81st minute, finishing off a move created by Mauricio Gonzalez to make it 3-0.
After the break, Minnesota stayed compact and disciplined, frustrating the hosts and hitting them on the counter. Yeboah was substituted in the 73rd minute after another influential display. Sergio Vasquez pulled one back for LAFC in the 90th minute, but it came too late to change the outcome.
The result stretches Minnesota's unbeaten run to six matches and keeps their push for a strong finish going. For Yeboah, the Ghana-eligible forward continues to make his mark in North America, and the assists keep coming.
