A 31-year-old Chicago rapper died from at least 64 gunshot wounds after he was ambushed by unknown attackers following his release from jail on Saturday, police said.
According to Chicago Sun Times, Londre Sylvester, who goes by the stage name KTS Dre, was making his way out of the Cook County Jail when the fatal shooting occurred. His bail had been posted by his fiancée the day before his release. It is not known why he was not released the day his fiancée posted his bail and how his killers got to know he would be let go around the time.
Sylvester was being held at the Cook County Jail for violating his bail in connection to a 2020 felony gun case. Per the police report of his death, the drill rapper, following his release, was approaching a waiting vehicle when multiple suspects “exited two separate vehicles and all began to shoot in Sylvester’s direction, striking him numerous times,” NBC Chicago reported. The deceased was struck several times in the head and other parts of his body. Two women, one of them is reportedly his mother, who were around the scene of the shooting were also hospitalized with gunshot wounds.
Sad story, especially if reports saying they shot his mother turn out to be true.
Gangs don’t respect any Chicago laws they just killed a rapper KTS Dre outside Cook County Jail and probably won’t get caught and they shot his mother pic.twitter.com/bDxQOUPyVP
