The Philadelphia 76ers came up on top against the Washington Wizards on the road. The 76ers were slight favorites in this game as they could use almost everyone on their roster. The situation within the Wizards was different as they were without Bradley Beal and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.

This came in crucial for the outcome as Joel Embiid had yet another fantastic performance. He finished off with 36 points on a 12-17 shooting from the field. He also sank 10 out of 11 free throws in order to secure the victory for his team. On top of that, he added 13 rebounds which secured his double-double. Tobias Harris also played an important role for the 76ers as he dropped 23 points on 62% shooting.
The Wizards couldn’t find the right way past Philly’s defense as none of them reached the 20-point mark. Spencer Dinwiddie finished off with 17 points, but had difficulties in each aspect of the game, including the free throws. Kyle Kuzma added a double-double (12 points and 10 rebounds). The rest of the squad underperformed as the Wizards wrapped up the game on 38.9% shooting from the field.
The 76ers’ lead was built throughout the whole game with the end result coming at 96:117. This equalized everything for both teams in the current standings as they share a 17-16 record so far. They are 6th and 7th respectively as their ambitions are quite high this year.
The Philadelphia 76ers will end the year with two visits to Toronto and Brooklyn. This will be two tough games, but both of their opponents are having COVID-19 issues at the moment. The Washington Wizards won’t leave the East as well as they will face the Miami Heat on Tuesday. They will finish off 2021 with a home game against the high-flying Cleveland Cavaliers.
