Jimmy Butler surpass King James for all-time Miami Heat triple double

Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler lives up to his “Jimmy Buckets” nickname after Sunday’s win against the Miami Heat, 107-113, surpassing LeBron James on a franchise record for most triple-doubles.

It was late in the fourth quarter when Butler grabbed his 10th rebound of the game, solidifying him as the all-time triple-double leader. He finished the game with 20 points, 12 assists and ten rebounds, all while barely surviving the Laker’s furious late-game rally.

The Heat is now 30-17 and is tied with the Brooklyn Nets for the top spot in the Eastern Conference.

King James finished the game on the opposing side with 33 points (11 of which came in the fourth), 11 rebounds, four assists, and two steals.

Another interesting stat line for Butler is that it only took him 139 games to notch his 10th career triple-double, far less than James, which took 294 games for his nine triple-doubles.
