Celtics won game 6 thanks to a miraculous game-winner by Derrick White

Derrick White’s clutch put-back layup in the final moments became the saving grace for the Boston Celtics in their season-defining game. With relentless determination, he crashed the offensive glass and capitalized on an opportunity to tip in Marcus Smart’s missed 3-pointer, propelling Boston to a thrilling 104-103 victory in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Miami Heat.

The Celtics now find themselves just one win away from making NBA history as the first team to overcome a 3-0 series deficit and emerge victorious. The impact of White’s shot ignited sheer excitement among Boston fans, as evidenced by videos capturing their jubilant celebrations, including dancing and even climbing street poles.

It is an incredible time to be a fan of the Celtics, who defied the odds after a disheartening start to the series. Losing the first two games at home and suffering a lopsided defeat in Game 3 on the road, Boston appeared to be on the brink of elimination. However, they have shown resilience and found a way to assert themselves in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Forward Jayson Tatum has been instrumental in their resurgence, delivering exceptional performances with an average of 28.3 points on 50 percent shooting in the last three games. Tatum’s impressive 31-point outing in Game 6 propelled Boston to the victory on Saturday night.

Notably, Boston’s triumph in Game 6 also sparked excitement from Celtics legend Paul Pierce, a testament to the magnitude of their accomplishment.

Looking ahead, the Celtics will have the advantage of playing Game 7 on their home court on Monday at 8:30 p.m. ET. A victory in this decisive game would secure their second consecutive NBA Finals appearance, where they would face the Western Conference champions, the Denver Nuggets.

Boston, vying for their 18th NBA championship, aims to claim the record for the most championships in NBA history, currently tied with the Los Angeles Lakers at 17 titles.

As the Celtics embark on this historic comeback bid, the city of Boston could be in for even more exuberant celebrations should they achieve their ultimate goal.
