Tottenham Hotspur have ruled out Mali midfielder Yves Bissouma for Monday’s Premier League opener against Leicester City for disciplinary reasons.
The 27-year-old has apologised for what he described as a “gross misjudgment”.
“We have decided to suspend him for Monday’s game,” Postecoglou said in his pre-match press conference on Thursday.
“The door is open to him and we hope we can help him realise that the decisions he makes don’t just affect him. Hopefully that will allow him to make better decisions in the future,” he continued.
Bissouma was suspended after posting a video of himself inhaling laughing gas on social media, according to Australia coach Ange Postecoglou.
