The Utah Jazz have added forward Babacar Sanè to their roster as they aim to utilize their young talent and enhance their position in the competitive Western Conference.
Sanè has played for the G League Ignite for the last two seasons, appearing in a total of 46 regular season games (16 starts) and averaging 9.0 points and 5.9 rebounds in 21.6 minutes per game.
The native of Ziguinchor, Senegal, also participated in three games for the Jazz at the 2024 Salt Lake City Summer League and NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, with averages of 5.7 points and 3.0 rebounds in 10.4 minutes per game.
Babacar refined his skills at the NBA Africa Academy and also participated in the Basketball Africa League through the BAL Elevate Program. He also represented Senegal at the 2020 FIBA U18 African Championship, where he won the Silver Medal.
Despite having promising stars such as Lauri Markkanen and Jordan Clarkson, the Jazz finished in 12th place last season. This signing demonstrates their commitment to developing their team, but it also raises questions about potential trades and team restructuring.
