It is now common knowledge that the NBA is suspended because of the coronavirus. However, the league’s MVP is really missing the game.
The NBA has announced that it will be suspending the 2019-20 regular season until health officials declare that it is safe enough to resume playing. At the moment, we are not sure until when it will be, however it is looking like the season will run all the way until July.
The Bucks’ last game was on March 9th, just a few days before the announcment of the season’s postponement. So Antetokounmpo’s feelings are very understandable.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver completely comprehends this. In a recent statement, he knows that most players are itching to play. So owners and executives are trying to come up with ways to resume the season in a safe and healthy way. Per Tim Bontemps of ESPN:
“I have heard from a lot of our players … they’re going stir-crazy, they want to play, they want to compete. Players as you know, I mean, unlike a lot of us in our positions we can just go back to what we were doing, but every player is fighting something that’s unwinnable, and that’s the aging process. So a lost year or lost portion of a season in their careers is very different from other people, so we’re gonna try by every means we can to play basketball again, but I say that the safety and health of our players is first, and our fans, which is why I don’t want to speculate more on that.”
Time can only tell when the coronavirus pandemic will start vanishing. For the meantime, the right thing to do is to follow the advice of medical experts: stay at home and diligently wash your hands.
