Hi, what are you looking for?

Dennis Schroder is now the sole owner of his former german team.

Dennis Schroder has become the sole owner of German his hometown team Braunschweig. Schroder was previously the majority shareholder of the club since 2018, he’s now bought the remaining shares of the club.

According to informations from the club, Shroder became the only owner of the Braunschweig following several rounds of negotiations and meeting with the rest of the three shareholders (BS Energy, Public Insurance Braunschweig and Stadtsportbund Braunschweig). The four sides reached a mutual agreement for Schroder to be transferred the share of the other three partners in order to “ensure a uniformed strategic direction.”

I would also like to thank the companies that are committed to our club for the good discussions. It is very important that Volkswagen Financial Services, BS Energy and the public sector remain on board. We look forward to the coming season and hope that the Corona crisis will be overcome as soon as possible,” Schroder said.

In the 2010-11, Schroder started on the club’s farm team and averaged 7.8 points, 2.1 assists per game. The very next season, he would improve much more and average 17.8 points and 6.7 assists per games.

His performance that season was enough to earn him a permanent spot on that top-tier team for the 2012-13 season where he averaged 12.0 points, 3.2 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game while also earning the league’s most improved player award. After that third season playing basketball professionally in Germany for the club, he decided to enter the 2013 NBA Draft, where he was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks with the No. 17 overall pick.
