Newcastle United Manager Steve Bruce has explained why Ghanaian winger Christian Atsu was not part of his team that traveled to Bournemouth.
Newcastle visits Vitality Stadium yesterday and beat Bournemouth by 4 goals to 1 in the ongoing English Premier League.
But 28-year -old black star winger was left out in London for no reason because Atsu was fit and not injured. According to the boss, the door is not close to the player and he will come back to the team soon.
“Atsu wasn’t too well when we came back after the lockdown.
“You can only pick 20 players.
“He’s still got a part to play but, at the moment, he’s not quite making the squad,” Bruce said
Atsu got sick but has recovered and he is founding it difficult to get playing time after the premier League resumed from the lockdown.

“He has been a bit frustrated because of Saint-Maximin… but, it’s an opportunity for him (at Oxford) – and let’s hope he grasps it.”

Former Chelsea player Christian Atsu joined Newcastle on loan in the 2016-2017 season before signing a permanent deal in May 2017 for 62 million.
